Preview: Alcorn Central Bears vs. Biggersville Lions
Alcorn Central and Biggersville are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Alcorn Central Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Biggersville Lions at 12:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Alcorn Central has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 20 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Walnut with a sharp 54-34 win last Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Alcorn Central.
Meanwhile, Biggersville entered their tilt with Wheeler with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Biggersville had just enough and edged Wheeler out 58-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Alcorn Central pushed their record up to 9-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Biggersville, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Everything went Alcorn Central's way against Biggersville in their previous meeting back in November as Alcorn Central made off with a 54-28 win. Does Alcorn Central have another victory up their sleeve, or will Biggersville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
