Basketball Game Preview: Ashland Hornets vs. Southern Aroostook Warriors

Ashland hasn't had much luck against Southern Aroostook recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Ashland Hornets will square off against the Southern Aroostook Warriors at 2:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Thursday, Ashland was beaten by Washburn 69-9. The game marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Southern Aroostook was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 58-56 heartbreaker at the hands of Hodgdon.

This is the second loss in a row for Ashland and nudges their season record down to 3-10. As for Southern Aroostook, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

Ashland was taken down by Southern Aroostook 58-20 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Ashland avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
