Soccer Recap: Howland Sets Scoring Season-High Against Harding

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Howland). They never let the Harding Raiders get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory on Monday. Madison Schmitz was a massive factor in the win as she booted in three goals all by herself.

Howland used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Harding. Kaiden Fox played for 25 minutes having averaged 11.3 this season and Neveah Prill got 30 vs. an average of 17.7. Fox made the most of the opportunity, scoring a goal A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.

Howland has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those four matchups. As for Harding, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Howland will venture away from home to square off against Boardman at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Howland will be up against Boardman's rather soft defense (which has allowed three goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Harding, they will head out to face off against Canfield at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
