Recap: Sumter Gamecocks vs. Socastee Braves

The Sumter Gamecocks stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 86-32 win over Socastee. Sumter's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sumter to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kiara Croskey, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Croskey is absolutely dominating the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Rickell Brown, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists.

Despite the loss, Socastee had strong showings from Bri Smith, who scored 15 points along with two steals, and Anna Reese Pratt, who scored four points along with eight rebounds. Pratt is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played.

Sumter's victory was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-0. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 37.11 points. As for Socastee, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-10.

Sumter will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Carolina Forest at 6:00 p.m. As for Socastee, they will head out on the road to square off against St. James at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. St. James' defense has only allowed 27.7 points per game this season, so Socastee's offense will have their work cut out for them.
