Montgomery Academy had won five straight road games dating back to last season and Reid McBride did his part to make it six on Friday. The Eagles came out on top against the Saint James Trojans by a score of 14-7 thanks in part to McBride, who rushed for 68 yards and one score on only five carries. He didn't just play on offense: he also picked up a sack and made one tackle.

Despite the loss, Saint James still got an impressive performance from Grant Phillips, who picked up 37 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 76 yards on only ten carries.

Montgomery Academy's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Saint James, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Montgomery Academy and Saint James will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Eagles are set to take on their familiar foe Houston Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Saint James will face off against rival Bullock County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
