Volleyball Game Preview: Elizabeth Bulldogs vs. Maywood Academy Nighthawks

The Elizabeth Bulldogs are taking a road trip to square off against the Maywood Academy Nighthawks at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses dating back to last season for Elizabeth and eight for Maywood Academy dating back to last season.

Elizabeth managed to slip by Maywood CES the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Elizabeth lost 3-0 to Maywood CES on Monday.

While Elizabeth had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-18, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Maywood Academy came up short against Marquez on Monday, falling 3-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-13, 25-9.

Elizabeth's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Maywood Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

Elizabeth took their victory against Maywood Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0. Will Elizabeth repeat their success, or does Maywood Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
