Softball Recap: Oxford Prep Griffins vs. Vance Charter Knights

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Oxford Prep can now relate to. They lost 11-3 to the Vance Charter Knights on Friday. Oxford Prep has struggled against Vance Charter recently, as their game on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Marleigh Swanner made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with a home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaeli Gilleland, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

On Vance Charter's side, Leah Rice made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. Rice was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
