The Paraclete Spirits will venture away from home to face off against the Woodrow Wilson Bruins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Paraclete has given up an average of 27.1 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
On Friday, Paraclete needed a bit of extra time to put away St. Paul. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 43-42 win over the Swordsmen. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spirits.

Joseph Mesa continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 206 yards and four touchdowns, while also rushing for 82 yards and one score. Those 82 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Kyle Fulton Jr helped out on the ground, rushing for 138 yards and a rushing touchdown.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Paraclete was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 220 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Paul only rushed for 121.
Woodrow Wilson hadn't beaten Lakewood on the road since April 16, 2021 but that history sure didn't bother them on Thursday. The Bruins' defense stepped up to hand the Lancers a 23-0 shutout. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Bruins just coasted through the last quarter.
Woodrow Wilson's win came from a few key players Paraclete will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Mack Cooper, who threw for 121 yards and a pair of TDs. Jemel Grigsby also helped out as he racked up 103 rushing yards.
One reason for the win was Woodrow Wilson's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Zackariah Salcedo refused to say out of the backfield, picking up two sacks all by himself.
Paraclete's record now sits at 8-2. As for Woodrow Wilson, their record is now 9-1.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Paraclete has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 158.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Woodrow Wilson struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 187.3 rushing yards.
