Volleyball Game Preview: Soquel Knights vs. Mt. Madonna Hawks

Soquel has gone a perfect 10-0 against Mt. Madonna recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Knights are taking a road trip to challenge the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Soquel came up short against Aptos and fell 3-1. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Soquel started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-10, 25-22, 25-18.

Gemma Reyes put forth a good effort for the losing side as she had 12 digs and three assists.

Meanwhile, Mt. Madonna came up short against Harbor on Thursday, falling 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-19, 25-17.

Mt. Madonna's loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Soquel, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.

Soquel took their win against Mt. Madonna when the teams last played back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
