Soccer Game Preview: Richlands vs. Western Alamance

The Richlands Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Western Alamance Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Richlands is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Cedar Ridge as they made off with a 5-2 victory. It was an even better day for Kamrey Watkins as she scored four goals for her team.

Meanwhile, Western Alamance strolled into their game on Monday with an undefeated record and they left with the same. Their defense stepped up to hand Triton a 9-0 shutout. Give Western Alamance's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Western Alamance's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-0-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 70 goals over those nine games. As for Richlands, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-10-2 record this season.
