Football Recap: Sterling Piles Up the Points Against Arvada

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Brush, Sterling was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They breezed past the Arvada Bulldogs to the tune of 42-8. The contest marked the Tigers' most dominant win of the season.

Hunter Hershfeldt produced another solid effort picking up 170 receiving yards and a pair of scores, while also rushing for 35 yards and one TD. He is becoming a predictor of Sterling's success: when he posts at least 80 receiving yards the team is undefeated (and 0-4 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Braydon Evans, who rushed for 74 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only seven carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Sterling was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 264 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Sterling's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Arvada, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
