Football Game Preview: Hendersonville Bearcats vs. East Davidson Golden Eagles

The Hendersonville Bearcats will square off against the East Davidson Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. East Davidson took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Hendersonville, who comes in off a win.

On Friday, Hendersonville strolled past Polk County with points to spare, taking the game 37-21. Given the Bearcats' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 156th, while the Wolverines are ranked 323rd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hendersonville didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Polk County to a completion percentage of just 40.9%. The team can thank Gianni Jacobs for the heroic effort on defense: he. Hendersonville wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 65.5%.

Hendersonville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Javanni Suber and Albany. Another thorn in Polk County's side was Sebastian Jacobs, who picked up two sacks and made five total tackles.

Meanwhile, East Davidson played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by West Davidson and fell 49-10. The Golden Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-3.

Hendersonville will have to contain Landon Hollar as he made an impact in East Davidson's last game. He rushed for 153 yards and three scores on only eight carries.

Hendersonville has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 44.2 points over those games. As for East Davidson, they dropped their record down to 1-9 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
