Bangs proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 48) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They pulled ahead with a 28-27 photo finish over the Hico Tigers. The victory was nothing new for the Dragons as they're now sitting on five straight.

One reason for the win was Bangs' imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for nine sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Ryan Alqorum and Rooster Laughlin, who racked up five sacks between them. Alqorum also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with ten. Cason Tidwell was another major factor on D, making 17 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Bangs' win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Hico, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.

Coming up, Bangs will challenge Hamilton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' defense has only allowed 7.3 points per game this season, so the Dragons' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Hico, they will face off against Coleman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will be up against the Bluecats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 34.43 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
