Basketball Game Preview: El Dorado Cougars vs. Rosemont Wolverines

The El Dorado Cougars will venture away from home to square off against the Rosemont Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. El Dorado is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

On Tuesday, El Dorado was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 73-67 to Argonaut. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 808th, while the Mustangs are ranked 339th).

Meanwhile, Rosemont got the win against Galt on Tuesday by a conclusive 62-41. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-13.

Rosemont pushed their record up to 6-7 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.7 points per game. As for El Dorado, they now have a losing record at 7-8.

El Dorado couldn't quite finish off Rosemont in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 and fell 59-56. Can El Dorado avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
