Soccer Recap: Seabreeze's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

If Seabreeze was feeling good fresh off their 9-1 takedown of Deltona last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Seabreeze Sandcrabs fell just short of the Spruce Creek Hawks by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Sandcrabs were not able to make up for their loss to the Hawks from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

Owen Applegarth and Charlie Triplett scored both of Seabreeze's goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

With the defeat, Seabreeze broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-7-1. As for Spruce Creek, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2-3.

Seabreeze will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Flagler Palm Coast at 7:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025. Flagler Palm Coast will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Seabreeze surely won't give up without a fight. As for Spruce Creek, they will be home for the holidays to greet University at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Spruce Creek is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.5 goals per game this season.
