Basketball Game Preview: Franklin Community Grizzly Cubs vs. Center Grove Trojans

Franklin Community is 2-8 against Center Grove since March of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Grizzly Cubs will head out on the road to face off against the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Franklin Community is headed out to face Center Grove after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. The Grizzly Cubs narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Indian Creek 71-68. The Grizzly Cubs haven't had any issues with the Braves recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Franklin Community got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Omari Thomas out in front who went 6-for-8 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points in addition to five boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tony Barnes, who shot 78% from the field on his way to 21 points.

Meanwhile, Center Grove posted their closest win since January 11th on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Franklin Central 60-58.

Franklin Community came up short against Center Grove in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 50-43. Can the Grizzly Cubs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
