Softball Game Preview: Lincoln Park Lions vs. Niles North Vikings

The Lincoln Park Lions are taking a road trip to face off against the Niles North Vikings at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Lincoln Park is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Lincoln Park's offense. They lost 10-0 to Fenwick on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Niles North suffered their closest loss since May 1, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Whitney Young by a score of 2-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Vikings were not able to get on the board.

Lucy Hibicke spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

Lincoln Park's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Niles North, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-6.

Lincoln Park might still be hurting after the 13-5 defeat they got from Niles North in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
