Thursday just wasn't the day for Grossmont's offense. They received a blow on Thursday as they fell 18-0 to the Steele Canyon Cougars. The Foothillers' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Even if they lost, Grossmont's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Emma Hernanadez was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two herself. She is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as she's now posted at least one in each of the last six games she's played.

Grossmont's loss dropped their record down to 13-3. As for Steele Canyon, their victory bumped their record up to 12-3.

Looking ahead, Grossmont will venture away from home to challenge Helix at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Steele Canyon, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 25-19 defeat against Bonita Vista on the 27th.
