Soccer Recap: John Paul II Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

If John Paul II was feeling good fresh off their 4-1 takedown of Holy Cross last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The John Paul II Centurions fell just short of the Geneva Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Monday.

Justin Brown and Zeran Martinez scored both of John Paul II's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 22 goals.

John Paul II's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5-2. As for Geneva, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-6-1.

The future could be bright for both John Paul II and Geneva: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. John Paul II will try to hand The Christian School at Castle Hills their third-straight loss when the two meet at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Geneva will look to extend Holy Cross' four-game losing streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
