Recap: Crescent City Raiders vs. Halifax Academy Knights
After a string of four wins, the Crescent City Raiders's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They received a tough blow as they fell 39-21 to Halifax Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Crescent City has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Crescent City lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kirabella Williams. Despite the final result, she scored 13 points. The contest was Williams' third in a row with at least ten points. Amarea Pates was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Crescent City's loss dropped their record down to 4-1. As for Halifax Academy, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.
Crescent City won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Taylor at 6:00 p.m. on January 4th. Taylor will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 633rd, while Crescent City is ranked 304th). As for Halifax Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Atlantic at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Atlantic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 two weeks ago.
