Sunnyvale has gone a perfect 5-0 against Ferris recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Cayson Maupin, who threw for 314 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 59 yards. His passing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 302 passing yards. Hudson Leonard also helped with two touchdowns in total.
Ferris never got on the board in their matchup back in September, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Castleberry last Friday. They walked away with a 48-36 victory over the Lions. The win was some much needed relief for the Yellowjackets as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Ferris' win came from a few key players Sunnyvale will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Robert Quigley, who rushed for 80 yards and three scores. Tristen Cook was another key signal caller, throwing for 205 yards and three TDs.
Having lost for the first time this season, Sunnyvale fell to 4-1. As for Ferris, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
