Volleyball Recap: Tornillo Coyotes vs. Alpine Bucks

Tornillo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Alpine Bucks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bucks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-8, 25-14.

Alpine got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Zariah Galvan out in front who had 12 digs and ten assists. That's the most assists Galvan has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Naida Morris, who had 26 assists and two aces.

Tornillo's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13-1. As for Alpine, they pushed their record up to 17-13 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Tornillo is set to face off against their familiar foe Kermit at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Alpine will challenge rival Presidio at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
