Baseball Recap: Cesar E. Chavez Comes Up Short

Cesar E. Chavez extended their losing streak to eight on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-9. They lost 11-3 to the Houston Math Science & Tech Tigers. The Lobos were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

Cesar E. Chavez saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Duran, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. That hit marked the first that Duran has got this season.

Houston Math Science & Tech's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Houston Math Science & Tech's side, Geovanny Alvarado was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs. Another player making a difference was Speedy Zuniga, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

While Cesar E. Chavez had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
