Basketball Recap: School Without Walls Wins High-Profile Contest Against Mckinley Tech

On Wednesday, School Without Walls faced McKinley Tech in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The School Without Walls Penguins managed a 41-37 win over the McKinley Tech Trainers. This was payback for the Penguins, who suffered a 40-38 loss the last time these two teams met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead School Without Walls to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sophie Whitaker, who posted 13 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Liliana Dietz, who earned six points and nine rebounds.

The victory made it two in a row for School Without Walls and bumps their season record up to 9-2. As for McKinley Tech, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 6-6.

School Without Walls will square off against Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. School Without Walls' defense has only allowed 28.7 points per game this season, so Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for McKinley Tech, they are taking a road trip to challenge Ballou at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
