Volleyball Recap: Capitan Comes Up Short

If Capitan was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Mescalero Apache on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers lost 3-0 to the Lordsburg Mavericks on Saturday. The Tigers have struggled against the Mavericks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

While Capitan had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-18, 25-18.

Capitan's defeat dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Lordsburg, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

As of now, neither Capitan nor Lordsburg have any future games scheduled.
