Recap: Wenonah Dragons vs. Parker Thundering Herd
The Wenonah Dragons had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 37 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They walked away with a 49-42 victory over Parker. For Wenonah, this counts as revenge for the 59-57 defeat Parker walked away with the last time they faced one another last Thursday.
Wenonah's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jakerria Ringstaff, who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Ringstaff set a new season high mark in points with 23. Another player making a difference was Samarian Franklin, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Wenonah's win bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Parker, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.
Wenonah won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Hueytown at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th. Hueytown will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 269th, while Wenonah is ranked 62nd). As for Parker, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Woodlawn at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
