Softball Game Preview: North Point Eagles vs. Great Mills Hornets

The North Point Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Great Mills Hornets at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for North Point and seven for Great Mills.

Monday just wasn't the day for North Point's offense. They came up short against Calvert on Monday, falling 9-0.

Patuxent hit Great Mills with a five-run first inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Hornets lost 11-2 to the Panthers.

Olivia Quinn made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and two runs.

North Point's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Great Mills, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.

Everything went North Point's way against Great Mills in their previous matchup back in March, as North Point made off with a 14-4 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
