Stonewall Jackson is 2-8 against Page County since March of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Generals will venture away from home to face off against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Stonewall Jackson will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
Stonewall Jackson couldn't beat Strasburg on Tuesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the third inning. The Generals lost 29-6 to the Rams. On the bright side, the six- run performance marked the Generals' highest-scoring contest to date.
Chase Harlow was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Jackson Saeler also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, Page County won against Rappahannock County on Friday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Panthers walked away with a 6-3 win over Madison County. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.
John Leake spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on seven hits and racked up ten Ks. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Page County is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 1-3 otherwise.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Collin Murphy, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Brayden Morrison, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Page County's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Stonewall Jackson, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.
Stonewall Jackson couldn't quite finish off Page County when the teams last played back in May of 2025 and fell 7-5. Can the Generals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
