Basketball Recap: Bolton Academy Starts Season with Win on the Road

Bolton Academy had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victors by a 59-37 margin over the Alexandria Country Day Tigers on Thursday. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 29-6.

Bolton Academy found their leader in sophomore Kerry Simmons, who dropped a double-double with 37 points and 13 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Royce Roberts, who posted eight points in addition to nine rebounds and six assists.

Alexandria Country Day is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Looking ahead, Bolton Academy and Grace Christian will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. As for Alexandria Country Day, after both having extra time off, they and Grant will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on December 2.
