Recap: Economedes Jaguars vs. Edinburg Bobcats
The Economedes Jaguars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Edinburg, falling 71-43. Economedes has not had much luck with the Bobcats recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Economedes' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nathaniel De La Garza, who scored 12 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Gomez, who scored 11 points.
Edinburg found their leader in underclassman Axel Navarro, who scored 22 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Navarro has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Rivera, who scored 12 points.
Economedes has not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-16 record this season. As for Edinburg, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-9.
Economedes will head out on the road to challenge the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mission is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Edinburg, they will be playing at home against the Coyotes at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. La Joya is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 51.7 points per game this season.
