Recap: Midlothian Trojans vs. L.C. Bird Skyhawks
The Midlothian Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 20-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of L.C. Bird. Midlothian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as L.C. Bird apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2022.
Chase Chambers threw for 99 yards on 11 of 18 attempts. Jack Lipsteuer was his top target, picking up 42 receiving yards. On the ground, Bryce Sowers rushed for 57 yards and a touchdown.
L.C. Bird can attribute much of their success to La'Tavion Lowe, who rushed for 136 yards and two touchdowns. Lowe was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 59 yards. L.C. Bird also got help from Sha?heym Dugger who showed off his sure hands for 87 receiving yards.
Midlothian's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for L.C. Bird, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Midlothian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. L.C. Bird will head out on the road to face off against Matoaca at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Matoaca presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than L.C. Bird in Virginia (Matoaca is ranked 26th, while L.C. Bird is ranked 110th).
