Recap: Bloomington South Panthers vs. Bloomington North Cougars
The Bloomington South Panthers had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 44-31 win over Bloomington North on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for Bloomington South who now have six in a row.
Jarrin Alley was his usual excellent self, throwing for 220 yards and six touchdowns. Alley has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last four times he's played. Lucas Waldon also helped out with an impressive 94 receiving yards.
Dash King and Jorian Brooks certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. King threw for 435 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.8 yards per attempt, while Brooks picked up 229 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Brooks' longest reception was for an incredible 80 yards. Cole Grupenhoff also helped out as he racked up 108 receiving yards.
Bloomington South's victory was their fifth straight on the road , which pushed their record up to 10-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.2 points per game. As for Bloomington North, their defeat ended a eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-1.
Bloomington South will head out on the road to face off against Seymour at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Seymour will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 87th, while Bloomington South is ranked 12th). Bloomington North does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
