Softball Recap: Webster County Trojans vs. McLean County Cougars
Webster County put the finishing touches on their 12th blowout victory of the season on Monday. They blew past the McLean County Cougars 14-1. Winning may never get old, but Webster County sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Layla Scott and Chloe Papineau made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Scott pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Papineau tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive pitching appearances. At bat, Scott scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Papineau scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Jenna Shelley was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Warren, who went 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBI, and a double.
