Basketball Recap: Fairfield Falls to Newton in First Game of Season

Fairfield had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 48-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Newton Eagles. The Mules have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Looking ahead, Fairfield will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Flora at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the Mules' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Newton, they are headed away from home for the first time to take on Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
