Football Game Preview: Red Springs Red Devils vs. Whiteville Wolfpack

The Red Springs Red Devils will venture away from home to challenge the Whiteville Wolfpack at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Red Springs' defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat West Bladen 35-0. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Red Devils had established a 22-point advantage.

Meanwhile, Whiteville entered their tilt with Fairmont on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They took down the Golden Tornadoes 42-28.

Whiteville's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Red Springs, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-5.

Red Springs didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Whiteville in their previous meeting back in March of 2021, but they still walked away with a 6-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Devils since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
