Volleyball Recap: Dongola Comes Up Short

Dongola was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Egyptian Pharaohs. The Demons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pharaohs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

While Dongola ultimately came up short, they really made Egyptian work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 26-24, 25-17.

Dongola's record now sits at 0-8. As for Egyptian, their win ended a four-match drought on the road and puts them at 5-5.

Looking ahead, Egyptian will face off against Century at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dongola will be paying especially close attention to the Pharaohs' matchup: after the Pharaohs face off against Elverado, they'll take on Dongola again at 6:00 p.m. on October 7.
