Basketball Recap: Chloe Crandall Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Camp Verde

Scottsdale Preparatory Academy won the last time they faced Camp Verde and things went their way on Thursday too. The Scottsdale Preparatory Academy Spartans came out on top against the Camp Verde Cowboys by a score of 49-39. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.

Scottsdale Preparatory Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Chloe Crandall out in front who posted eight points along with 15 rebounds and four steals. Crandall has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Stanek, who had 19 points.

Scottsdale Preparatory Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Camp Verde only pulled down seven offensive rebounds.

Camp Verde lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Lydia Bleak, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Bleak has become a key player for Camp Verde: the team is 7-2 when she posts at least ten boards, but 5-12 otherwise. Shanell Russell was another key player, putting up 13 points and four steals.

Scottsdale Preparatory Academy's record is now 19-7. As for Camp Verde, their loss dropped their record down to 12-14.

As of now, neither Scottsdale Preparatory Academy nor Camp Verde have any future games scheduled.
