Basketball Recap: Tahoka Comes Up Short

Tahoka was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 86-27 loss at the hands of the Abernathy Antelopes. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 849th, while the Antelopes are ranked 85th).

Mecailin Marshall continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Abernathy, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 22 rebounds. The game was Marshall's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kendal Miller, who went 10 for 20 on her way to 22 points along with five boards and four steals.

Tahoka's loss dropped their record down to 6-19. As for Abernathy, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 24-8.

Tahoka is taking a road trip to square off against Ralls at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Ralls has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Abernathy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Floydada at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
