Baseball Game Preview: Tavares Bulldogs vs. Umatilla Bulldogs

We've got a battle between Bulldogs coming up. Tavares is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

Tavares came up short against Eustis on Tuesday, falling 14-3.

Tavares saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Calvin Hinckley, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Umatilla had just enough and edged out Deltona 5-3 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Wyatt Strawbridge was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base.

Tavares' defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Umatilla, their record now sits at 11-7.

Tavares suffered a grim 13-1 defeat to Umatilla when the teams last played on March 3rd. Can Tavares avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
