Basketball Recap: Jacobs Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Elijah Bell and Malachi Bell + How To Watch

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Jacobs and Cary-Grove meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Golden Eagles fell 61-52 to the Trojans. The loss was the Golden Eagles' first of the season.

Jacobs' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Malachi Bell, who posted 17 points, and Elijah Bell, who had 12 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Goehring, who scored nine points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Jacobs fell to 4-1. As for Cary-Grove, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jacobs won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Corliss at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Cary-Grove, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll take on Marian Central Catholic at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
