Basketball Recap: Elite Scholars Academy's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

Elite Scholars Academy suffered their closest defeat since January 28th on Monday. They fell just short of the Lakeview Academy Lions by a score of 62-60. The loss was the Royal Knights' first of the season.

Despite the loss, Elite Scholars Academy still got an impressive performance from Xavier Charles-Jones, who shot 57% from the field on his way to 20 points and five boards. Asa Mitchell was another key player, dropping a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Having lost for the first time this season, Elite Scholars Academy fell to 3-1. As for Lakeview Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Elite Scholars Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-44 win against Stephens County on the 25th. As for Lakeview Academy, they are taking a road trip to face off against Lanier Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Lions will be up against the Lightning's rather soft defense (which has allowed 70.67 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
