Volleyball Recap: Mira Costa Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Mira Costa can now relate to. They fell 3-1 to the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers on Wednesday. The Mustangs have struggled against the Trailblazers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

While Mira Costa ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-23, 23-25, 25-17, 25-19.

Madeleine Zaragoza was the offensive standout of the contest as she had nine digs and three assists.

Mira Costa's loss dropped their record down to 24-11. As for Sierra Canyon, the victory (which was their 18th in a row) raised their record to 40-3.

Mira Costa does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sierra Canyon, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Marymount on the 15th.
