Basketball Recap: Baker Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Baker was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Lake Mead Christian Academy Eagles and fell 70-27. The Braves were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-5.

Several Braves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Anthony Ibarra, who posted nine points and five steals. Ibarra is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 15 games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Ortiz, who went 5-for-12 to rack up 14 points and five boards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lake Mead Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Adrian Cortez, who had 11 points and seven rebounds. Gavin Magbanua was another key player, putting up nine points along with five assists and three steals.

Baker's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Coming up, Baker will be playing in front of their home fans against Indian Springs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lake Mead Christian Academy, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will face off against Pinecrest Academy Cadence at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
