Basketball Recap: Abby Livingston and Lailah Singletary Secure Win for Irmo

Irmo put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 57-49 win over the Wilson Tigers. This was payback for the Yellow Jackets, who suffered a 48-37 loss the last time these two teams met.

Leading Irmo to victory were Lailah Singletary and Abby Livingston. Singletary dropped a double-double with 26 points and ten rebounds, while Livingston dropped a triple-double with 14 points, 11 boards, and 11 assists. Those 11 assists gave Livingston a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Janiyah Stokes, who went 5-for-9 en route to 13 points and five boards.

Irmo smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Irmo's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Wilson, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Irmo will face off against Newberry at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wilson, they will venture away from home to face off against Mullins at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
