Troy has gone 8-2 against Genesee recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Trojans will welcome the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. Troy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
Troy will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Saturday, then bounced right back against Vision on Saturday. Payton Christensen was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single hit and allowed only one earned run while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Christensen was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Troy got a massive performance out of Wade Moser, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. What's more, Moser posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Genesee saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Bollman, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases. Bollman is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.
Having lost for the first time this season, Genesee fell to 3-1-2. As for Troy, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Troy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .449. However, it's not like Genesee struggles in that department as they've averaged .487. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Troy was able to grind out a solid victory over Genesee in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 9-5. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
