Pendleton Heights lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Mt. Vernon, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's contest. The Arabians put the hurt on the Marauders with a sharp 9-3 victory on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Arabians have posted against the Marauders since April 27, 2022.
Jacob Garner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Pendleton Heights let Ty Frakes and Colton Frank run wild. Frakes went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Frank got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Frank a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jordan Williamson, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Pendleton Heights always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mt. Vernon only posted an OBP of .296.
Meanwhile, Lapel got the win against Tipton on Thursday by a conclusive 15-5. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Blue Devils: they've now won four in a row.
Jaxson Cripe was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Quade Hall was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Pendleton Heights' win bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Lapel, their victory bumped their record up to 14-1.
Friday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Pendleton Heights has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .498. However, it's not like Lapel struggles in that department as they've averaged .535. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
