Basketball Recap: The O'neal School Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

The O'Neal School waltzed into their contest on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They skirted past the Trinity Christian Crusaders 42-39. This was a revenge game for the Falcons: when they faced off against the Crusaders back in December of 2024, they had to take a 47-29 loss.

The O'Neal School got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Gigi Gabrielle out in front who went 6 for 11 on her way to 14 points. Judah Sibley was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 13 points and nine boards.

Several Crusaders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Janiah McBryde, who posted 13 points and five steals. McBryde has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kyleigh Goode, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.

The O'Neal School pushed their record up to 10-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points per game. As for Trinity Christian, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. The O'Neal School will venture away from home to take on Freedom Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Freedom Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.5 points per game this season. As for Trinity Christian, they are taking a road trip to challenge Village Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
