Football Game Preview: Gardiner Tigers vs. Foxcroft Academy Ponies

The Gardiner Tigers will square off against the Foxcroft Academy Ponies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Gardiner 12, Foxcroft Academy 14.7) so any points scored will be well earned.

Gardiner is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Maine's top teams: Leavitt, who was ranked sixth at the time (Gardiner was ranked 24th). The Tigers came up short against the Hornets on Saturday, falling 32-7. The contest marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Foxcroft Academy got themselves on the board against Hampden on Friday, but Hampden never followed suit. They strolled past the Broncos with points to spare, taking the game 19-0.

Foxcroft Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Gardiner, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.
