Baseball Recap: Kiefer's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Kiefer came into Monday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Sperry Pirates on Monday. For the Trojans, this counts as revenge for the 7-2 victory the Pirates walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Landon Ruggieri was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Ruggieri was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Ruggieri wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Trent Cantrell, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

The win got Kiefer back to even at 3-3. As for Sperry, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
