Volleyball Recap: Sierra Vista Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Liberty + How To Watch

Sierra Vista faced Liberty in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Mountain Lions lost 3-0 to the Patriots. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in August.

While Sierra Vista was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Liberty's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-20, 25-22.

Averie Gidge paced Sierra Vista's offense, picking up nine kills. Gidge got some help from Jaidyn Moliga and her 14 assists. Moliga also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Taryn Ah Mow, each putting up two.

Sierra Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 19-12. As for Liberty, they pushed their record up to 23-9 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Coming up, Sierra Vista will welcome Clark at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Liberty, they will be playing at home against Silverado at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
